A Pollinator’s Paradise
The Great Canadian Landscape Company was engaged to transform a front yard that was predominantly lawn with minimal planting into a low-maintenance, ecologically rich landscape designed to support pollinators and enhance homeowner privacy.
The primary objectives were to eliminate the need for weekly lawn maintenance, replace traditional turf with bee-friendly lawn alternatives, and introduce a diverse West Coast–inspired planting palette. Additional layers of planting were strategically integrated to create increased privacy for the homeowners while maintaining curb appeal.
The result is a thriving, sustainable landscape that reduces ongoing maintenance demands and provides a welcoming habitat for native bees and beneficial insects commonly found along the West Coast. What was once a conventional lawn is now a vibrant, living ecosystem—functional, beautiful, and environmentally responsible.
