Nestled in the heart of North Vancouver, BC, The Great Canadian Landscaping Company Ltd. has grown from a seedling of passion into a full-grown testament to vision, hard work, and the beauty of the natural world. Founded in the spring of 2000 by Chris O’Donohue, the company has weathered seasons of change and blossomed into a leading full-service design-build firm, landscape maintenance and Snow and Ice Management provider known both for its aesthetic excellence and sustainable practices.

Story

2000Founded The Great Canadian Landscaping Company Ltd. at 1111 Croft Road, North Vancouver. Equipment was a garden shed, truck, and trailer.

2005Moved into First Shop at 995 West 3rd St, North Vancouver. Expanded service offerings.

2006Founded The Great Canadian Snow Management Company. Expanded to include snow plowing & de-icing services.

2009Moved into a bigger shop space at 111 Bowser Avenue, North Vancouver.

2010Founded The Great Canadian Fence & Deck Company. Expanded to include carpentry services.

2013Expanded to include Irrigation & Lighting Services in the Great Canadian business family.

2016Founded Vancity Sprinklers & Nightscape Lighting. Moved into a new warehouse/office space at 118 Garden Avenue, North Vancouver — where we currently reside.

2017 - 2018Initiated a big push on business development, implementation of a paperless office, and community initiatives.

2019 - 2020Recognised business model. More residential push versus developers. Back to basics. Stabilised growth. New website and catalogue to celebrate 20th anniversary.

2020 – 2021During the period of Covid, our company had to pivot and figure out how to grow amid an epidemic and financial turmoil caused by it. We chose to focus on our Residential Install division and Strata Maintenance.

2021-2023Post Covid era was a time of clients realizing that creating outdoor spaces and improving their homes was important to them. This created a surge in our outdoor living space and allowed out company to expand into the Sea to Sky Corridor as well.

2024Currently we are focused on process development, improving our client service methods and focused on Strata Maintenance and Snow and Ice Services. We have also decided to refocus our installation division to custom landscapes and design services.

2025Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence in Landscaping!
This year marks a special milestone for The Great Canadian Landscaping Company—25 incredible years of designing, building, and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces across North and West Vancouver, Vancouver, and the Sea to Sky Corridor.
From our humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in landscaping, our journey has been shaped by the dedication of our hardworking team and the unwavering support of our valued clients. We couldn’t have done it without you!
